Any amount of stress on the left hand side of the emotional landscape is a risk to sound decision-making.

This is because your autonomic nervous system (ANS) overides the thinking centres of the brain (corticol) and connect straight to your emotional centres which are set to deal with the percieved threat.

After resilience comes control.

After control comes access to the higher functionuing centres of your mind.
